with all the praise for the sublime subtle humour of the BBCs Detectorists

wheres the love for some low brow ITV vomitarium humour?

the episode with barry from eastenders at the blowjob wall was classic

Its great. Some good low brow humour and some higher brow historical stuff thrown in.

its truly terrible, but it does have the rather [s]dirty[/s] lovely Lydia Rose Bewdley, so I force myself to watch.

It is very funny. Grumio is my favourite character ("he was a ****, so I shat in his hat"). It is also, according to my classicist friend, surprisingly historically accurate, perhaps because the inimitable Mary Beard was an advisor.

Best thing on TV at the moment.
Check out the gladiator episode in the first series with Danny Dyer in it. Classic.

Oh, and Sophie Colquhoun.
What better reason to watch it?
