Any suggestions?

Go on 4OD.

Just start looking through them...

Garth Merengue's 'Dark Place' as a starter.

BBC - 15 Stories High

if you like those then try Arrested Development - direct line from that to 30 Rock and Modern Family

Larry Sanders is available on DVD now and is an absolute classic

So sitcom/ comedy drama rather than sketch shows? Best I've seen in a long time is Misfits on E4 / Channel 4, you'll prob find the first series on 4OD, second series coming up next month.

I'll second Arrested Development. Not entirely sure about comedy but breaking bad and weeds are also very good.

Inbetweeners, way past the knuckle at times, but I think it's ace. Strangeley my Mother in law (62) watches it too and loves it. I see her in a different light now!

Eastbound and down is good,

Most of the others above I've loved too, especially Breaking Bad.

Mad Men whilst strictly not comedy always entertains and raises a few laughs.

Trailer park boys is brilliant.

Big Bang Theory however is not. It's just a SLIGHT (and I mean slight) re-hash of every single US sitcom since Taxi. Even the characters correspond.

Some of the gags are ok but please, for the love of God THINK OF A DIFFERENT FORMAT!

How about Seinfeld it has Larry David's ideas before he recycled them in Curb your enthusiasm. A bit unfair as I do love Curb.

Based on your list... US version of The Office. Once you get over it being a copy of the UK version its actually pretty funny and takes it in a new direction. Loads of episodes, too.

Thanks to this thread i've just found the 2 series of 'Chelmsford 123' on 4OD.

Been trying to get it on DVD for ages but apparently it was never released. Still funny (i had a nasty feeling it may not have aged well). Never looked at 4OD before but it's stopped me doing anything so far today as i've watched the first 3 episodes. ๐Ÿ™‚

US Office is very good. The later seasons that haven't been aired here are worth importing from the states [s]or rapidshare[/s]

Parks and Recreation is also incredibly funny if you like the mockumentary genre.

See, I watched quite a bit of this and never laughed. Seemed to be almost all in-jokes aimed at Jewish people.

I think the Big Bang Theory is funnier if you are a Sci Fi nerd. Still pretty sharp I reckon. Not that big on Inbetweeners lots of pooh and knob jokes but I guess it is about teenagers.

Jwt, so glad someone else suggested Better Off Ted. Really one of the funniest things I've seen in years, and each episode gets better than the last. It's the only comedy programme that genuinely has me laughing out loud every time I watch it. The humour is sharp and well observed and delivered. Crying shame it got canned after two series; typical US network fannying around shifting showtimes and then pulling the plug because no-one watches it. That's because no-one knows where to chuffing find it! Pushing Daisies is another brilliant series that suffered the same fate. Too sophisticated for trailer trash in Iowa and Idaho to get their stupid peanut sized brains around.

๐Ÿ˜€ Same. I've heard it gets a bit tedious after Season 4 but I've only just started that one.
