Have apparently successfully "tunneled" 😳

WTF do I do now ? - presumably use browser but none of the shortcuts I use when at work seem to connect despite the tunnel

🙁

You're connecting in to a work VPN? Should be just the same as being at work (though if it's "split tunnel" your Internet traffic will go out normally rather than being directed to the VPN.

I no idea what type of connection; I just followed some instructions from the work IT pages and have enabled a tunnel, and that's where the instructions ended.

... but how do I access "work"

I assume via my browser ? - so what do I type into the address doodah

Or via explorer - though nothing worky-looking shows up

What do you normally do to access "work"?

I just do that. Use Outlook, intranet, internet.

Things vary though, if your "work" is grave digging you might need a different kind of tunnel.

Our Mac VPN we use the Finder Go command and connect to the server which then shows up as a mounted drive on the desktop. (You will need to use SMB protocol for this e.g. smb:// your.work.server name and then windows explorer will allow you to browse that disk). If your email is set-up on the laptop (you can send from the office when the laptop is there) that should just work as if you are at your desk.

Most stuff is local, but can access network drives via Windows Explorer, Sharepoint via browser as normal. It's really no different to being in the office.

Are the files you are trying to access on a networked drive, or kept on your office PC?

I'm assuming you're using a work laptop from home - this could be an incorrect assumption...
