The site will have the closed sign up from 8am on Thursday 6th Feb while we migrate everyone to our new forum.
It could be down for several hours - there's a lot to import.
When the site is back the new forum will have a limited history of around 2 years - however we will continue to import the earlier history until the new forum contains the entire history.
Some long standing topics, like the Trump topic will not be visible at launch because it was started more than 2 years ago. Please don't start a new topic if one is missiing - they will reappear as we work back through the archive.

That's good news, although I'm going to have to do some actual work tomorrow now, which will be a bit of a shock to the system.

Also, what is the "minimum required number of posts" to attach a file. I'm pretty gutted that I haven't reached that, I've been making serious effort for many years.

Top tip: don't disable dark mode because it's worse without and now I can't see the button to change it back.

It’s worse without dark mode? Holy crap. I’m supposedly in dark mode and most of the site (half the posts and all the chrome) is unreadable white text on off-white, with half the posts being white on charcoal grey. Most of the header bar is black on black. It’s basically unusable.
Safari on iPad, FWIW.

Well, that was a surprise! I’ve been watching telly all evening, and browsing the continual ongoing drama and insanity from America, so when I came over to here about ten minutes ago, it was a little disconcerting, to say the least!
First impressions are that I really like the new layout, it follows the old forum where it matters, but is cleaner and fresher looking.
I can read everything clearly, I like the layout of the formatting across the top of the typing box, although I can’t see a strike-through button, unless there’s some hidden option I can’t find.
Overall, well done everyone for all the work you’ve put in. 👍

No issues with visibility although would prefer text on the thread listing smaller to see more per screen (chrome on Samsung phone)

And seems on my version threads are all time jumbled, some near the top have last post from hours ago, some down the bottom with post a few mins ago
Takes ages to actually post something, but the biggest problem I’ve encountered is I can’t find any way to go to the latest post on any particular topic! I’m not spending most of my life having to go through 79 pages, one page at a time! There used to be a little row of numbered boxes, where you could click the last visible one, then the last visible page, skipping ahead , or being able to jump straight to the very last page. If there’s 70+ pages, going through them all, one at a time is completely unacceptable.
The little function that took you to the last post you read seems to have stopped working for me.
No way if seeing how many replies there have been to a thread either which is "different".
Other than a period yeate6whwnnit wouldn't load it does seem a little faster ..... Time will tell if it continues that way.
Still don't like the blue title colour though (I've always viewed in dark mode).

Also, FWIW, that took about two and a half minutes to post (not including the image upload, just from hitting “Add reply” to getting the page back).
That’s odd. I posted a comment saying that posting took around two and a half minutes, which itself then took about two and a quarter minutes, but then it never even appeared. Let’s see what happens to this one.

Replies are still a little slow to upload, but once there are instantly viewable and can be edited. Huuuuuge improvement, keep up the good work
The dialog for creating a link is a little challenging. The little popup is presumably there to help explain something…? Other dialogs are much the same.
Now I can’t see how to add an image to the post 🤔
