Anyone know where to get a rack and pinion, sliding carriage and a guide extrusion to make a ceiling drilling rig for an sds max drill?

Does it need to be rack and pinion? You could use aluminum extrusion for the slider mechanism then drive it with a lead screw. Both of those are readily available and pretty cheap. For example RS have a lot of sliders if you want a proper shop or there's loads on eBay.

Look at misumi.com for bits, but expect to get somethings made to join it all together.
