A couple from today (Alvoriaz)..

That's a great spot Ben. It would be intereting to see a version that isolates the shadows on the snow rather than having the fence in the shot. The fence tells you what the shadows are; it would be more interesting perhaps if you could only see the shadows and not be able to immediately understand what causes them.

Not quite as clear as I'd like it to be

This is St Michaels Mount the other day, New Years Eve in fact.

I'm proud as it's my final photo, my 1095th consecutive photo without a single day missed after 3 years doing a photo a day, which I started because of a thread on here as it happens.

I absolutely love the library of daily memories I've created over that 3 years but I'm ready now to go back to normal photo output....so, about the same but without the pressure. 🙂

I know what you (Kayak23) mean about the "pressure" of taking a "photo a day" I've been doing it from 2009 for 3 years solid, then on and off for 2012. Another full year 2013, on and off in 2014 and a full year in 2015.
I promised myself a year off this year but after 2 days I have 2 photos already. It's a hard hobbit to break once you've got over a month or so of dull and under interesting days

Not ones i'm proud of, as they aren't great, plus I didn't have a tripod so they are soft due to being handheld, but they are the first pics with my new [to me] Panasonic LX5, taken whilst learning how to use the thing.

Hi all, just caught up with this thread, not read it for a while. Fantastic pictures all please keep the thread going. They are definitely inspiring me to get better and take more pictures, thank you all for sharing.

Jad those photos are amasing. One of my goals for the year is to get out more and take landscape pictures. Make an effort to venture further away from home and make the effort to head out even when it's not a perfect sunny afternoon to get interesting views. I have a lot to learn about technique but if I'm not in the right place at the right time it doesn't matter about the knowledge.

Greg, I was wandering around Chinatown with my new camera the other day too. Lots of interesting stuff to shoot in Manchester.

It really is an interesting city when you wander down backstreets and look upwards, rather than at your shoes. Lots to see, interesting places, odd people.

I spent the day on Sunday in and around Soho, London taking street portraits. All these images are of people I persuaded to pose for me.

Yes it was available lighting rather than set up lighting. And it was also completely candid he was waiting to meet somebody and it dawned on me that the way he was standing would like a great picture. It was helped by the fact that the early morning lighting was soft and diffused by the cloud.

Don't know what it is about your photos GeeTee, but too many on a page brings my computer to a standstill.

That doen't sound good. Sincere apologies. It could just be that the computer doesn't think much of my work and is spitting its dummy out in protest!

I am really sorry about this. I don't know why it would suddenly be a problem. I'm simply linking directly to the picture on Flickr and yes the file size is on the larger side (I think around 10mb?) but that's pretty manageable these days.

Andy I think this is some of the best work I've seen you post since I've been following you (though it has obvious appeal to me). The strip light behind that chaps head is a bit of a shame but there's not much you could have done about that and it's still a wonderful environmental portrait.

I like environmental portraits. If i had to choose a style of photography that i feel most at home with then that would be it.
