Photobucket is driving me nuts, keeps freezing, locking up when uploading fairly modest sized images. What alternatives are out there ? I'm looking for something for hosting images for the for sale section of this forum for example.

Flickr seems to work pretty well for me, makes it easy to get the code to embed your pictures in a post too.

Funny, I was having problems with Photobucket a while back on my phone and pad, particularly the pad. It would open, but as soon as I selected My Albums it would just lock up. If I closed it, removed it from the task bar and then re-opened it, it would work, but sometimes only after a couple of attempts. Eventually I deleted it and re-installed it, and it's been fine since.
If yours is a desktop version, then I've no idea, other than doing something similar.

Flickr or Dropbox
Flickr is nicer for Photo Hosting.
Drop Box is easier for sharing a pic.

my only reason for not using Flickr is to avoid filling it with random pics of seatposts etc...

Picasa web albums.

Nice software interface, easy upload.

I use FlickR for photo storage stuff, holidays, days out and "photography" and picasa for things like seat posts.

Anyone tried smugmug?

How much does it cost these days?
I used to use Zenfolio, which is pretty similar, and was very happy with that.
For the OP, Flickr will be fine.

I use facebook. Just remember to tick the "Remove from Timeline" option to avoid clogging up everyone else's newsfeed with meaningless pictures of bike bits. You can still link to the picture in the album to post it on a forum.

Google Photos (Picasa)?

go through this link and you get the links for embedding in the forum:
https://picasaweb.google.com/home

Masses of free storage.

By joing with the android app Smugmug is $4 a month or $30 a year for the power account. I prefer the layout and the video is limited to 20 minutes rather than 90 secs like Flickr.

Google Photos (Picasa)?

Like that, Dez. Similar to FB, but you can "slideshow" it.

I've been thinking about trying to find an unlimited free service now that Flickr are sending me warnings about reaching my free "limit".

Being a cheapskate, and all... 😉
