Right you know those dating sites where people type in all their interests and things?
you know, they like having sex with old people or they enjoy walks in the hills and watching coronation street...
Has anyone made a proximity app for that?
So you're in the supermarket and your phone gives you a buzz, you pull it out and it tells you that within 100 feet there's someone who matches all your requirements. Your phone could beep a lot or point at them for you.
It's brilliant isn't it? Almost as good as my idea for an app which provides your children with a harmless but well intentioned electric shock when they wander more than fifty feet away from you.
It could be hacked...
IIRC, a couple of years ago Stephen Fry mentioned a similar app (on the iPhone) that he 'had seen' used by a promiscuous 'friend' in the gay community.
I would go off and hunt for it, but I'm on my work PC 😳
EDIT: Just had a look on my phone and an app called "grindr" seems to fit [i]some [/i]of your requirements.
EDIT #2: Just to clarify.... I don't have the app installed on my phone, I used the internet browsing capabilities of the device to see if there was mention of it somewhere on the internets.
