Can you bring a dog into the country even though it only had it's bloodtest 3 months before entry?

3 months quarantine? any other ways?

I'm pretty certain the 6 month period is non negotiable.

If you try to bring a dog back into the country less than 6 months after the blood sample date you risk it going into quarantine (at your expense) for 6 months. Sorry.

Nope, but they can recognise them from the microchip number they have to have implanted when the passport's completed 🙂

Need to go through the joy of speaking to DEFRA. If you do, make sure you make a note of their name and try and get them to put it in writing.

Essentially if it had a positive blood test 3 months ago it is possible the dog would only have to spend 3 months in quarantine before being released but not had anyone go through that bit. Most people keep them in kennels abroad then fly them in as quarantine kennels are more expensive than normal ones and visiting is limted anyway.

As don knows only too well 🙁 the six months is pretty non-negotiable. Even my vet mate said there was no way around it (as far as he knew).

*gives don a manly pat on the back*
