Got an interview at 3.00pm in Peterlee tomorrow and that means this south-coast boy's goin' tup north (or something like that!).

Will I need my passport stamped by you northern boys on here?

Staying over in York so any recommendations for good pubs or whatever?

Cheers Tyger

Dont forget your flat cap and whippet on a string.

Don't worry, there'll be all the deep fried Chewits you can eat afterwards.

If your thinking of getting a job in Peterlee then you've clearly never been before - 'It's grim up north' holds very true for some places......

Even the Monkeyhangers from Hartlepool think Peterlee is rough!!

There are much worse places than Peterlee, although I would advise living slighty outside of peterlee if you've got a car as the transport links are good (A19 one side, A1 the other); theres miles of sustrans (great for night rides) and other trails around the local coast, rivers, and country parks, and the NY moors are accessible by car and train (guisborough and carlton DH track woods are defintely worth a visit).

Whippets dont exist anymore in Peterlee, funnily they became extinct about the same time peterlee got a new chinese take away..

Try to shoehorn "owt" into as many sentences as you can. It won't make you sound like a complete idiot at all.

Nah, don't listen to 'em tyger - bleedin' naysayers 🙂

I moved to the NE 2 years ago, having spent 8 years in Manchester - best thing we ever did. Swapped a 2-bed terrace for a 4-bed detached (and that's proper, victorian detached not rubbish no-room-to-swing-a-cat-modern-detached) and now enjoy a quieter pace of life - We've got the beach round the corner and Guisborough woods is just a 5 mile pootle away.

Can commute to Peterlee in less than an hour from here; which I still find staggering; in Manchester my 8 mile commute frequently took an hour !
