I'd like to nominate the bloke I see on my daily commute, sat on the steps near our office, who's daily breakfast seems to consist of a can of Special Brew.

Any man who can neck a pint of that at 8 in the morning, as a bit of a livener, surely doesn't have to prove his manhood in any other way?

Your nominations please

There is an online resource dedicated to Iron Cross and Knights Cross winners. Its quite sad to read. It actually makes you realise how pathetic and sad war really is. People trading their lives for pathetic bits of costume jewellery 🙁

Anybody who absolutely genuinely doesn't give a f#¤k about what people think of them.

Preferably not using this psychotic skill to become a mass murderer though, I was thinking of those who will do, say, wear, drink, eat whatever they want, whenever they want 🙂

Michael Howard - he used to be totally in favour of the death penalty until the Guildford 4 were found not guilty when he realised that they would have been hung despite being innocent.

He publicly changed his mind on capital punishment after that,

I hate him as a right wing Tory but have to respect his integrity over that issue

You have to take your hat off to Berlisconi. The mans a genius.

How about this for a gambit

1. Take control of 90% of the countries media
2. Pass a law allowing state funding of political parties
3. Call an election
4. Spend X squillion euros of taxpayers money on 'vote for me' advertising on your own media
5. Sit back as the opposition parties match your spend on advertising (on the media you own)
6. As an after-thought change the law to make yourself immune from prosecution for corruption
7. Return to your huge mansion to count your new money. With a room full of gorgeous hookers, and coke and stuff
8. Laugh like the Bond villain you look like

I think changing your mind is one of the most interesting things someone can do, you don't need to think to have an opinion, but to have changed your opinion shows thought, or understood, or witnessed (perhaps). But I would only say Michael Howard could be admired for his cameo in Dawn Penn's version of 'You Don't Love Me (No No No)'

Gadaffi- why is he only 'Colonel'- is this the rank he reached before he took power/overthrew the government? If I was a mad Dictator with a bevvy of female bodyguards I'd have promoted myself to the Supreme Overlord Major Major General of Land, sea and North African Empire.

Qadaffi's always someone I've admired. Check out John Simpson's description of a meeting with him in the middle of the Libyan desert in (I think) A Mad World My Masters.

Also, anyone who has these as his personal bodyguard...well...

Dani Pedrosa - I could never stand him but he's shown a bit of humility recently and my opinion has changed

Dermot O'leary's square head - I find quite a bit of admiration for that

I was about to say "Nobody's said Bojo". Curses.

I like Bojo, he's another one who admits his mistakes and changes of mind- I got one of his books of collected articles and he made a point of reprinting old articles which he's now been proved wrong on, rather than just airbrushing them out. He's also quite open that he's not a natural tory at all, they just happen to be the closest thing going to his own beliefs that have a chance of election. And of course he's good comic value.
