Ok, first -I used to be in PC support many years ago, so I ain't no dummy!
My wife worked on a PowerPoint document that had been emailed to her, she didn't save it separately from the emailed version, so has now "lost" her changes.
Now it must be in the Internet cache somewhere, but how do we find it??
thanks! (She'll give a big kiss to the person who can answer correctly 🙂 )
Is it Outlook?
if so look for it in a folder called OLKxxxxx
Ah sorry, no - I'm pretty sure she used Outlook Web Access (through IE)
have a look for it here
C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\OLKxxx
if it's there tell her to pucker up 😀
I've had less and less luck recovering tmp files from recent versions of office products, you used to be able to pretty reliably find the last version as a .tmp somewhere obvious, but it seems they're cleaned up these days.
Also look in
C:\Documents and Settings\username\recent\
if it's there tell her to pucker up
We'll look there. I guess its one-a them Hidden System folders.
You're a brave man 🙂
cheers!
I've just replicated on my PC and my doc was in
Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\subfolder (weird!) so maybe I'll get the kiss (first one in years 🙂 )
You're a brave man
she a vampire ?
If it's Vista or 7 then the path may be C:\users rather than C:\documents and settings.
she a vampire ?
I wish. Do you watch True Blood?? 😈
Found the ppt file folks. Simon_G's link was the biggest help - that you have to browse to these folders as "search" doesn't find them.
twas in Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\nnnnnn\
As his info wasn't completely correct the kiss will have to come from ... me x
