Anyone else into it? I got algorithmed some videos by a guy called Jimmy the Giant and now I'm hooked. Strictly an observer though I like the idea of doing it - think I'm a bit old and decrepit to start though.

Some crazy stuff being done, I love the creative use of public spaces etc - it's like skateboarding which I was big into as a kid but the purity of no equipment is very cool.

The big dramatic stuff like this one from HK is obviously amazing but some of the more low-key creative stuff is very cool too.

This guy is an absolute beast also:

Daughters gymnastics club used to run parkour sessions using all the safety pads. Was full of 13 year old lads dressed entirely in black and talking a foreign language, as far as I could tell.

It does seem to be a bit of a sausage-fest although there are some notable females doing it - Red Bull sponsor a Turkish female athlete called Hazal Nehir.

How is he not a) in movies and b) in hospital?

He's Danny Mac on foot, and I've seen how often Danny falls off.

Its incredible stuff and yeah the simplicity and creativity with urban everyday structures is really reminiscent of skateboarding etc.

But im now 50 and the idea of just a forward roll on tarmac gives me the heebie-jeebies.

I think its amazing to watch, but like trial riding it must have resulted in some horrible accidents.

But im now 50 and the idea of just a forward roll on tarmac gives me the heebie-jeebies.

Im older, and the thought of just sitting on the tarmac is not one i'd do willingly 😆

Amazing stuff.

Vic & Bob have ruined it all for me a little bit though.

Not sure if he's been in movies but a couple of the guys from Storror were in a recent Michael Bay film doing parkour.

I think being a movie stuntman is one way people can make a living from this kind of thing.

Apparently this Dom Tomato fella started doing big gap/drop jumps having seen videos not realising they'd been semi-faked and they'd actually landed on crash mats but cut that out - so he just went and did the same drops without crash mats and stepped it all up several levels.

Obviously there are injuries but a lot of the more scary stuff they prepare/train for extensively so they are reasonably confident they will be able to do it or they wouldn't attempt it.

Yeah I'm a big Storror watcher, along with Dom Tomato and Travis Verky.

Amazing and as said, it's got the feel of street skating to it, the creativity.

My (now-17 year-old) son went through a parkour phase a few years back. He has a hard time running now.

But whatever the damage one's body can sustain, it's got to be nothing compared to what those videos sounded like. Particularly the second and third. What's with the violent 'music'? Or is that just part of the scene?

[STW MODE]Bloody young people wearing hoodies, having some craic and listening to bleepy bloopy music. How dare they not behave exactly as I want them to.[/STW MODE]

Been watching Storror for years. I've got a work mate who knows them and he always gets the heads up when they're coming up north but I've never seen them in action.

Their Asian stuff from a few years ago is amazing. Even the Mrs likes it because in her words, it's rare to see a group of young lads having a laugh who aren't complete toxic bellends.

That Tomato bloke was in Sheffield a few weeks ago and he did one of the most terrifying front flip gaps ever seen so that's worth looking for.

I'm a bit old and stiff now but I would have been obsessed with it when I was a kid. We were climbing around in town and exploring roof tops anyway, it just never occurred to us to combine it with extremely dangerous gymnastics for some reason.

Hmmm, I was tempted until I remembered that I am sat here with four broken ribs awaiting surgery to put my finger back together after an extreme Parkour move of "Putting a sculpture on a Step" went wrong.
