Ordered a new pair of headphones a while ago from the states, they were finally built/sent 10 days ago and landed in this country last week,

I paid the custom fees last Wednesday, and since then my headphones have been on a jolly trip to Carlisle.....Birmingham.....London.....Glasgow......Back to Carlisle......Lost for 2 days......finally found and have been out for delivery for the previous 2 days.

I live 50 miles from the major sorting office in Carlisle.....yet my headphones have been on a 700 mile trip around the UK whilst passing by my door, yet not managed to be delivered.

3 days to cross the Atlantic and be cleared by customs, 7 days to * around the UK.............

Sums up this *ing country.

Rant over.......

I've had a few things sent on 24hours  service by parcel force recently.

3 working days later it arrives.

If everything goes on the same magical mystery tour, that might go some way to explaining how they lost about a squillion quid last year

I gave up using them years ago after repeatedly replacing artwork that arrived with customers looking like somebody had reversed an articulated lorry over it, set fire to it, then put it out with a shovel. Who knows… they may well have done precisely that

I've never had much problem with Parcelforce.

Also, our local Parcelforce driver is really helpful.

A couple of years back, he had a bike for me but there was nobody home. He actually came back and tried again before leaving and the village and I had managed to get back home.

Had a bike delivered by them, left it on the doorstep facing a busy main road.

I refuse to deal with them since one of their drivers tried to run me off the road, and they never had the courtesy to even respond to my complaint.

As if by magic, and with the power of a ranty STW thread......they've finally arrived, and intact.

If those are your headphones, how big is your head?

I have used Parcelforce for over 20 years and also received many items, including one today and never had a single problem.

Parcelforce are crap though. I've had stuff cross the planet in a matter of days then you see 'Rotherham Depot' on the tracking info and you know it's game over for at least a week.

No too much of an issue for me. I get an email to say my parcel has been delivered and two or three days later it is.

Quite normal, I used to be medium to large in bike helmets, I still look like my avatar I made 20 odd years ago

ParcelFarce have always been like this. Their 24 hour service is basically 3 days, and the 48 hour one is "It'll be with you when it's with you."

Having said that, a few years ago I sold my entire vinyl collection on eBay as a job lot (800 records in 8 boxes of 100 records) and they did eventually deliver them all to the buyer without issues, but it did take them two weeks using the 48 hour service.

Alex Grell OAE-1 , nothing fancy, I was a previous owner of the Sennheiser HD800 that Alex designed when he was chief engineer at Sennheiser so was intrigued by his driver design and placement in the OAE-1, I’ll compare them to my current fav headphone Sennheiser HD490 and decide if they’re worth keeping

Drop are pretty good with the things they sell, I’ve bought some items from them, in particular a couple of sets of MeeAudio Pinnacle P1 IEM’s, which I use most of the time, along with a Fiio KA5 DAC. I like the look of those Grell’s, not sure I’d appreciate them enough to stop using my Røde NTH-100’s.

I ordered some new walking shoes at the beginning of the week, said 2-3 day delivery.  They arrived the next day by parcel force.

Not sure if that has any relevance to the UK or not.

Ouch…..is there a decent excuse for that?, or merely the usual Parcelforce experience?

Back to Carlisle……Lost for 2 days……finally found and have been out for delivery for the previous 2 days.

Couple of the local posties (who do PF deliveries) have had Covid and been off.

There has also been a STW style software update for parcel tracking according to the people I've just bought some adjustable feet from.

The point of parcel force? Mainly to siphon off profits to shareholders after privatisation while the (now separate) post office go cap in hand to the government for subsidy.

I've had fewer problems - if any - with Parcel force in the last 20 years than any of the others. Either I'm incredibly lucky, or they must really hate some of you guys.

Work parcel sat in their UK customs office to be sent back to us saying the address was wrong - box looked like it had been sat in a puddle for 5 days. Repacked and sent back with same address, now delivered to the Netherlands. Whole thing took nearly a month!!

Parcel force in the last 20 years

Any major events in parcel forces recent history that might have kicked off a decline in both actual service and the customer services.over the last 18months ?

Are you going to update this post when you try and send them back to the US or create a new one? 😉

Probably Sennheiser HE1 or for more sensible prices something like Audeze LCD5, or even Dan Clark Expanse, all way way out of my budget though, but the audeze and dan clark do sound exceptionally good.

Nah, I've already got a few folk willing to pay asking price if I decide to sell them.

Well they managed to get me a printer delivered after ordering it at 5pm yesterday, to my door before 12 this morning, seemed pretty damned good to me ..free delivery option on my order, not priority or next day.
