If he brings Pogba on, I’ll slag him off relentlessly for being a bone-idle, overpriced showpony, which is usually when he scores an absolute screamer from30 yards out then sets up the winner with an inch perfect 60-yard pass to Rashford 😉

Here goes...

On a more pertinent note, it’s good to see the players on both teams united and taking a stand about what’s gone on in the PSG game

I’ve got you down to win 3-2.

It’ll have to be 4-3 now.

Bizarre incident though - alleged of course - of racism by the fourth official?!

I don’t think there’s much chance of a 4-3! United comebacks are all very well against bang average mid table Premier League sides - the Champions League is a step up.

Bizarre incident though – alleged of course – of racism by the fourth official?

From the BBC description, it just sounds like he may have identified him from a a group as "the black guy" not sure that is any way near enough to merit the reaction.

Did PSG go off in protest as well or just because there was no point staying on the pitch at that time?

From a crazy first month, the excitement level has really dropped, as has the quality of the football. While it might look exiting to see so many teams still in with a shot, most of the matches have just become dire. I just want this season over already, get the euros dusted then hope some normality is restored next season.

The thread could be retitled "a drudgery of soccerball"

Yeah, kind of agree. No European games or cup games for a few weeks might help a bit? All those who played in Europe looked rusty this weekend.

The Manchester derby yesterday was one of the worst matches I've had the displeasure of watching for ages. It was like neither team wanted to win - I couldn't believe how many passes went either sideways or backwards, particularly from a City side that used to pride itself on playing fast triangular passing.

The Derby yesterday was absolutely awful. The worst one I’ve ever had the misfortune to watch.

It’s like they’d agreed beforehand to just have a bit of a kick about for a nil nil. All have a bit of a breather after midweek in Europe.

On a positive note it’s great to see fans back in the grounds. I think it played a big part in Fulham and Palaces performances today. Fulham looked great first half.

Just watching MOTD - WTF is going on at Arsenal? They’re an absolute shambles. They look like relegation fodder

I don’t know how much truth there is in the rumour they’ve approached Big Sam to help keep them up 😉

As an aside, if you’ve not watched it then Anton Ferdinand,s documentary Football, racism and me Is well worth a viewing on iplayer

It’s pertinent at the moment particularly, with BLM and Millwall last week, but it highlights how the FA dealt with it. Unsurprisingly, it doesn’t reflect well on the FA. John Terry obviously doesn’t come out of it well, but that can hardly come as a surprise to anybody

It’s a very powerful programme from somebody is obviously still massively effected by what happened to him

Amazon prime really should not do live sport until they go to broadband. Constant dropouts.

Big Sam back! Probably should’ve held out for the Arsenal job though? I think Bilic has been pretty hard done by.

This Amazon feed is absolutely shite! Constantly dropping out. I’ve given up on the tellybox and am now watching it on an iPad and it still keeps dropping out 😡

Went for a dodgy stream instead of Amazon earlier and ended up with Premier Sports. The Irish commentary more than made up for the delayed stream! 🙂

For me that puts the Villa game to rest for me. I was thinking after Spurs that Liverpool were due to thrash someone but thought it’d come at home not away, considering we’ve been average away.
Bobby’s no look goal was awesome.

they were all simply fab goals, really impressed.

I honestly thought Palace played fairly well, at least for the first hour or so and could have easily been in the game still. Just class passes and finishing wiped them out.

I'm not going to complain though and gives a few teams something to think about.

Yep, and been a bit of a bogey team over the years. If we’ve won it’s always been a horrible win.

It’s probably the 3-3 collapse, Suarez’s tears, and the 4-3 FA Cup semi final that clouds judgement of them being a bogey team.

Crystal Palace became a tough game for the top teams for a season or 2 after Hodgson took over, but they have slipped back from that more recently. Zaha's performances have become more one dimensional as his move to a bigger club hasn't materialised and he seems to have lost heart in trying to prove his worth.

And who's have thought city relying on a tight defence to scrape wins.... Too many of the attacking line playing for themselves, stopping to do tricks and stepovers allowing the opposition defence to get in shape. They need to get back to making decisions on the run instead of stopping and then deciding what options available.

United v Leeds this afternoon for the first time in 16 years. I’m sure GMP are delighted there are no fans in the ground, but I’m hoping that doesn’t mean another dull-as-dishwater borefest that was the Manchester Derby

It was always an ... ahem... ‘feisty’ affair in the past. Here’s hoping they both go for it and it’s a 4-3.

Beforehand, Leicester are still high enough up the table to provoke another Maureen bus-parking exercise. I wonder how Harry Kane is enjoying his new centre back role 😂

Hopefully it will live up to the clashes of previous decades - such a shame that Old Trafford will be empty as this is one of those games where the electricity in the ground could power the floodlights. Not sure there are any players on either side who understand the significance of this rivalry to the respective cities.

It's not that big! It might be for Leeds but for Utd they have bigger, longer rivalries.

Hope Leicester continue to punish Spurs for the anti-football dross they keep serving up.

You certainly wouldn’t think that if you’d ever been in a full OT when our friends from the wrong side of the Pennines were visiting. I’m sure they’d have got exactly the same reception now with a crowd there.

I just hope it’s not one of those that is nothing without a crowd. The Derby was absolutely dreadful.

Well that was a start I didn't expect or want. It's certainly exciting and we could have had a couple.

@binners - in normal times, how could you possibly hear the crowd over the chomping of prawn sandwiches?

And no distraction of UCL football. It could be your year. Nah, seriously, cracking result which must mean a lot given that your traditional rivals aren’t really bothered any more.

Was going to post before the game began that we’d see whether Utd are genuine contenders via their next run of games, Leeds, Leicester, Wolves and Villa......and then Liverpool in mid January. I’m amazed they are where they are given the defence and how awful they are when they’re bad!
