there are loads of these on ebay for about £20.00 +
are these worth a punt on a sim only deal or should I just
get a new basic phone.
Whatever I get I will be on a basic £10/month contract or payAsYouGo

Don't do it! We use these for work and they are pants. Not as tough as they look tbh.
British gas ditched theirs shortly after we bought ours, I don't know anyone who likes them or who doesn't have any issues with them.
