From someone who has taken a cricket ball on the nose, my experience was a lot more blood. Ouch goes some way to covering it!

That's amazing! No game like it for throwing up absurd circumstances. More importantly though, you keeps the specs sticker on their TV?

Nasty.

I played for 30 years, kept wicket for most of it, long before wearing helmets became common for the wk. I broke and dislocated many fingers but managed to avoid a ball in the face all that time.

My mate's girlfriend borrowed my kit to play in a works charity game and within 10 minutes had managed to bounce a ball off the gloves into her face and smash four front teeth.

Still makes me wince to think of it now.
