We have recently had a new kitchen installed and today I have noticed they have removed the outside tap/pipework and in a different location there is now a a 15mm copper pipe sticking straight out with a bung on the end.

I am struggling to work out how to install a new tap as they all seem designed for pipes that are sticking upwards or supplied with hose Union back plates.

Any advice would be appreciated as I am not known for my diy skills 🙂.

Shower fittings work. Have to cut the pipe fairly accurately though.

90 degree elbow up to the backplate - best with a soldered/Yorkshire fitting.

Check that the plumber has put an isolation valve inside so you can turn it off in cold weather/ make it easier to install the tap.

Aye, 90deg compression elbow. And while you've got the tools out, fit a hot water tap too.

get them back to finish it off, if you aren't comfortable finishing it off

You can get fittings for a pipe coming straight out. We had one until I redid the kitchen. Better if you.can find one as there is less external plumbing so less chance of frost damage

Thanks for the advice. 90 degree compression elbow looks straightforward.
