I dont live in the uk, but i have a tendancy to still look at the bbc site for news & sport - the swiss one isnt necessarily interesting for me at the moment.

However, i cannot see any of the videos, always not available in my territory.. This means i cannot see any international sports highlights or anything..

Does anyone know of a good site that does show videos etc?

For example, i never did get to see any videos from the vancouver games including the gold skeleton run..

yesterday couldnt see any highlights from a track race in copenhagen or any of the f1..

any help appreciated!

For $6/month PureVPN is good

I have an account with them that I use quite a bit when away with work
You can choose various servers & change them when you want - you'd obviously pick a UK server
As far as sites like the Beeb are aware - you'd be viewing from the UK

There are various 'proxy' accounts offered by a variety of companies. I use iprivacytools $18 for 3 months and then either you pay again or they give you instructions for free. There is also one called UK proxy or something. Some are free some cost.

tor + foxyproxy
need to configure torrc file to have only UK exit proxies
works for iplayer, all the youtube vids with music that get blocked etc. (the webpage is slow, really slow, but the video is peer2peer and fine)

edit: oh that's a year old thread (still useful info though)

Year old thread exhumed by a poster on their first ever posting?
Tinned meat product?

FWIW, expat shield is free and does what the OP wanted.

kewl did wonder if it was tinned meat after I hit send. now it looks like I resurrected it, when it wasn't. oh well - this topic should be a FAQ anyway.

TBH I just torrent the stuff I want, if it's recent and popular it's usually available. All this VPN stuff seems a bit of a faff.

Edit: tis a bit old the thread, isn't it? Weird.

Or alternatively you should soon (now?) be able to pay the people who broadcast the content. Rather than some murky VPN intermediary who will empty your bank account and molest your pets (your experience may be different).
