I can't see this but someone has told me that my facebook profile pic is on my sent emails. I can't see this anywhere in settings?

How can it happen? Cookies, virus etc?

"Is it the one in the gimp mask?"

no but its a wee bit concerning, its not a rude pic but its disturbing if Facebook is linking into things.

Hackers.

Jonny Lee Miller & Angelina Jolie have probably already deleted any trace of your existence.

Yep I have that, random photos of FB friends attach themselves to work colleagues. When I delete them, they just re-appear.

EDIT: OK mine is just corrupted Contacts, don't think they go with the emails.....

My outlook is on a cloud system/internet so probably a 'work' version of the new hotmail outlook- I've found a few topics of hotmail outlook doing just this but I can't find the steps needed to search out where it is on mine.

Outlook 2010 by any chance? I know it has a "social networking" add-on which could be to blame. I assume you can turn it off but never had to look into it

Try the security settings on facebook, there will probably be a setting in there to block links to other sites and applications iirc.

It will do it if you have windows live running in OUtlook (I assume you mean Hotmail) as it links through the new Skype messaging service. If it's doing it from Microsoft Outlook, then I can only assume you are using POP3 or SMTP with a windows live account and/or you have Hotmail going through to MS Outlook. I get exactly the same, but have two different windows accounts for Skype and get them apart from work.

From memory its POP3 as I can log in through the internet into my emails from any device.

I did wonder if it was being done at the request of the warranty departments of bicycle part retailers and distributors everywhere.

They can have their hora klaxons triggered based on facial recognition software.

I tried view panel etc- no people pane option.

I also tried: You can remove the People Pane from the ribbon by going to File>>Options>>Customize Ribbon. Then click on the + sign next to View, select "People Pane" and click Remove and then OK.

Nope, still not there. Weird. I've re-gone through my FB and removed all non-friend notifications for google search too but there was nothing that mentioned linking to outlook/other media.

how are your calendars synced is it windows live? either way, the fact you are running POP3 means that Sype will have taken all of your contact lists and transported them into the combined messenger/sype platform. That in turn will link to faceache (if you have in the past asked it to - normamly without knowing) and then populate all manner of contacts with photo's. I too have been very surprised by the number of random phot's that get pulled from social media platforms in to emails. Best thing is to get rid of faceache ****ter etc...

Check in your Skype platform to see if you have the same photo's appearing and combined contacts - if you do, then it means it is linking accounts and you need to undo this setting in Skype, not outlook or Hotmail.

Sounds familiar (kind of). Isn't this something that can also be at the other person's end?
ie they have the FB app (which steals anything it wants by default) and have they have fubared the privacy settings somewhere so *they* are linking 2 and 2 together.

just what andytherocketeer said - it's at the other person's end. Their address book/facebook is associating your email address with the picture. Change your FB picture and see if they notice.
