The Scots have a long and proud tradition of putting aside grudges and supporting their domestic rivals when they play overseas opposition, and I'm sure it will be no different for Celtic fans. 🙂

As a fan of the only Scottish team to have won two European trophies I'm quite keen to hang on to any little bragging rights we might still have. Like being the last team to beat Real Madrid in a European final.

surely you’ll set aside minor differences and support the Scottish side in the final won’t you?

So... What planet do you live on? 😆

Yep sales of Glasgow half and half scarfs will go through the roof.

LOL....I think there'll be a joint Russia-Ukraine Euro hosting bid before in that business plan turns a profit.

I watched the first half and they were awful. One incident encapsulated it, a 50/50 bouncing ball in midfield that two players went in for, collided, both fell down, both got up and then chased up to play again except the Utd player somehow lost 15 yards on the Brighton player in the incident. No desire, no drive, they're phoning it in right now.

I didn’t even watch it. I had the option of doing so or a walk in the lakes. That was a no brainer. But I did stick a bet on a Brighton win.

We are at the end point of where the club has been heading since those parasites bought the club. It’s not even a football club any more. It’s a theme park.

If there’s a worse managed organisation on the planet than Manchester United PLC, they’ll be bust by now

I was out with all my old mates last night. We all used to be season ticket holders. Saturdays were all about going to the match. Not one of us has a season ticket any more. We’ve all just become disillusioned at the utter *ing shambles this joke of a club has become under its clueless absentee owners. Where we are now was inevitable.

It’s a tragedy. And it’s difficult to see where you even start to get back from it. But it will only get worse under these owners because they couldn’t give a flying * about anything other than asset stripping the club

More applicable than ever

Just watched it on MOTD. An utter embarrassment

I’d say we look like a pub side, but we’re nowhere near as good as that

Not a single one of them* is fit to wear the shirt

* usual De Gea exemption applies

You can say what you like about how parasitic the Glazers are, and how shambolic the club is at various levels, but the reality is that the players consistently underperform when they cross the white line. They don’t even do the basics, ie pass, move, find space, track back, mark up etc. Some players appear to at least try (sometimes) but make mistakes and are too much of a liability, eg Dalot, Telles, Fred - others just don’t even do that, eg Rashford, Pogba, McT.

There is something fundamentally wrong with this group, whether it’s a lack of coaching/leadership from the manager/coaches and/or they just don’t give a shit.

For all their faults, the Glazers have squandered enough money on players in the last 10 years but I can’t think of a single one that would be deemed a mid- to long-term success throughout their time at the club. That’s down to the players and management.

In other news it’s good to see Chelski have been bought by a faded, aging extra from Top Gun

After Liverpool dropping points to Spurs last night, if City get 3 points at Newcastle this afternoon then that’s the title, surely?

I fully expect City to win all their remaining games anyway, it was nice to pretend the quadruple was on but it was never going to happen. I think when we drew with City and left the title in their hands it was effectively over. They might bottle it in the CL but not in the league.

Leeds will be lucky not to have half the team sent off today, completely lost their heads.

If it was at SJP I might have fancied the Mags to get something, but it's at City.

I was at the Amex yesterday and Brighton started brightly (as we always seem to) and Man U just thought all this running around is too much like hard work and seemed quite happy to watch us play. In the second half I was expecting Utd to have a go but they made it even easier for us.
I’m not sure who the bloke in the Ronaldo shirt was yesterday but it definitely wasn’t the fella that’s won the ballon d’or multiple times and scored 18 goals this season.

United is a retirement home. You sign up for your massive salary then put your feet up and relax.

It's a shame how much of the focus was o ManYoo - not how well Brighton played ... for a minute I thought Potter and Guardiola must be the same person ...

Its not been a one off though, has it? Brighton have looked really good and are playing some great football. You played us off the park!

The only redeeming feature of this weekends footy is that I have a running joke with my Citeh supporting mate where I bet on 5-0 if they're playing a team near the bottom, at home. So that came in at 15/1

Just how many people need moving on at Utd for the overall attitude to change? It feels like any top manager couldn't get anything out of the current squad and it's difficult to know who the bad apples are.

Under ability the following aren’t good enough for a team with United’s aspirations. Which I think is to get in the top four?

Jones, Dalot, Wan Bissaka, Matic, Mata, Martial, Lindelof, maybe McTominay, Fred and McGuire?

Under attitude?

Rashford, Pogba, for sure. Varane?

Expect many of the above to leave, in fact some have confirmed they will be.

For many seasons now there's only been one United player who has both the ability and attitude to justify their position and salary

Actually... Bruno for his first season, then he subsequently seems to had his efforts dragged down to the same levels as the other half-arsed layabouts. Shaw has his moments too in fits and starts, but is totally inconsistent

So what's the thinking on these new euro formats coming in 24/25 season? Basically, 3 current comps getting turned into 3 massive leagues, 36 teams, you play 10 different teams, only once. top 8 through, next 16 into a playoff, last 8 out.

Interesting the scalable aspect of it, sounds like Full time euro leagues will be shortly upon us tbh, end of the decade you'd imagine this will be scaled.

Interesting comments from Evra (may be trolling a bit 😉 ) about City's lack of leadership and ability to sort things out when things go wrong.

He doesn't want personality. He's the leader. That's why when they're in trouble they don't want to. They don't have anyone on the pitch to help them.

"He chooses his teams like that, he can't train people with personality.

Someone's still a bit sour about losing to personality-free Barca in 2009 and 2011, then.

Yeah, that’s BS. Messi, Xavi, Puyol, Iniesta, Alves, Muller, Lahm, Lewandowski, Neuer, Kompany, Silva, Aguero, De Bruyne…..no personality or ability to think for themselves 😂

Well he's got Haaland now to manage, ok he has no real personality, it'll be interesting to see how he fits in with their formation and movement, great player, but who drops out and how does it work, rumours Gabriel Jesus is moving out, but he does seem to always get goals or assists, and is happy to be part of the system, same with Sterling.

Wonder if they'll get Pogba as well, imagine moving over from Utd and suddenly showing some actual form in the EPL, still think he's PSG bound, but you never know!

'Losing' is putting it mildly. We got our arses handed to us.

City with Haaland in the squad makes me look forward to next years Derby's even less than this years. As for Pogba? I'll drive him over there myself. They're ****ing welcome to him!

Good call. It’d be more movement than he’s managed all season. He’d probably pull his hamstring somewhere around Ancoats and be out until Christmas

More likely he’ll be carried over on a sedan chair, while people scatter rose petals in front of him

I can’t honestly seeing Pep being remotely interested in signing a player with an attitude that bad

Could be seen as a straight replacement for Fernandinho 😂

Very similar players

Maybe Liverpool could sign him as a replacement for James Milner? 😂

"£51.2M" and "absolute bargain" in the same sentence?

Pogba on a free transfer looks like a rip off in comparison!

I wonder what the total is, before he died Raiola was after a huge fee, can’t see it being reduced much, so all in I’d bet that £52 million is just one part of the deal.

I can remember thinking, “5live can’t get any worse a co-commentator than Clinton Morrison, can they?” And then they got Jonathan Woodgate. 😐

He can’t be anywhere near the benchmark for genuine nails-down-a-blackboard commentary….

Steve McManomanomanomanoman.

This has started lively enough anyway

Bloody hell! I’d put my usual bet on Fabhino getting carded then he takes himself out before he has chance. Should have had one anyway. The ref is having a shocker

Cracking first half though

Imagine getting that nickname at Leeds?

Do you remember his debut for Real? I couldn’t believe they’d signed him anyway, then the first thing he did on his debut was score an own goal after about 5 minutes then get sent off 😂

Surely any half decent defensive midfielder should be getting a yellow card most games or they're not doing their job properly

Exactly! That’s why I always bet on Fabinho getting carded

If you’re not ‘taking one for the team’ to stop a break on the counter then you’re not doing your job.

Fernandinho is the same at Citeh

The only person who was a safer bet was Hair’n’elbows when he played for us. Guaranteed a card every time he crossed the white line. We all thought he was laughably shit when Moyes signed him. How little we knew of the joys that awaited us. I’d love to have the big mad Belgium bastard, rattling challenges in, over the absolutely spineless dross that’s followed
