Watching BBC Four and the English National Ballet are doing Romeo & Juliet. One of the guys has just had a foil straight though the palm of his hand. Ow ow ow ow...

Have they never heard of the little plastic buttons that go on the end??????

The "acutes" are just me showing off that I finally remembered how to do type them. I used to teach fencing many years ago so I knew how to spell it...

Unless it's a children's ballet. Then you would most likely end up with Gary in the nonce wing.

I dated someone who did Renaissance fencing - that was proper mental big FO swords and major slashing did seem to happen fairly often.
