Been with M&S for 4 years since Archie was a puppy.

Never made a claim as he's a tough terrier.

So why have they just put up our premium from £14.99 a month to £17.99?

I thought no claims made for lower policies.

Any other companies out their we can look at?

After our first year of insurance on KittyDribble, premium with PDSA went up 30%.

Looked around but not much devation with other companies for same care, so stuck with it and I'd put it down to the market in general, but I have no knowledge other than my own experience.

If the average amount of a claim (M&S has paid) has increased over the last 4 years, then when/if you claim the bill will by higher - would be one simple reason.

And your pet premium is greater than my last cars' premium... 😯

Think yourself lucky. The premium for my two labs has gone from £28 to £58 a month in 6 years.

Both needed relatively small ops this year costing circa £1,300, which goes some way to explaining the cost!

My understanding is that as pets get older they're more likely to need treatment - so they put premiums up. 4 does sound a bit young though...

My dog hit 10 last year and the premium jumped to £43 a month and excluded any illness associated with his old age.

I've warned my cat that if his premium gets beyond £10 a month, I'm buying a shotgun.

He still tries to fight Foxes....
