Hi, I’m building some wooden raised beds for my wife’s veggies and was thinking about building an extra one to line as a pond. As the pond will be above the ground level and won’t be very big what needs to be done to top it from totally freezing and killing any fish in it? If it can’t be done I’ll just build the pond for some pretty plants and a bit of water for frogs etc. Thanks 🙂

I would assume wrapping in bubble wrap when it gets really cold will do the job but unless you live in Lapland I doubt it would ever fully freeze anyway. Fish are happy enough under a frozen surface anyway, but pop a tennis ball or similar in there and it shouldn't freeze.
