[Closed] OT: Do I need a new printer? If so what?

Hi

I have a Canon Pixma i4300 printer
I bought it about 4 years ago for 50 quid

Over the years I have been replacing ink cartridges like you do but tonight I have just been given an error code suggesting I need to spend 40 pounds on new ink

I am therefore wondering how much printer tech has come on over the years since I bought it
My main thought is that all tech products move on at speed and a 4 year old printer must be massively poorer than a new one at the same price point

If so what should I look at?

I like printing good quality A4
Im not a pro but quality means more to me than ease of use

It would also be cool to print A3 at good resolution too since I have a new DSLR

Any ideas of what to Google will be very well recieived
