On a ride i dropped my GPS and had to go retrieve it. I want to know how much time this cost me - so when the gps was idle and when it started moving again.
I have the GPX file, any idea how to do this?

Strava senses weakness in this one.

You can open the GPX file in any test editor (like Notepad on a PC). You'll see a timestamp and grid ref details.
Or - load it into the likes of Endomondo and it'll show a speed of zero on the graph at the bottom of the screen.

I really like the reports that this tool produces. Very handy if you don't have a Strava/Endomondo/MapMyTracks account and just want to quickly visualise a GPX file without signing up to anything.
