The generators which supply the forum had a reported hiccup hence the speed..
All good here.
Ther used to be 13 ad servers max on thread pages, now 16.
Slow for me too - Safari on mac. Other websites OK.
Oddly it was very slow 15 mins ago (on a chromebook using my OnePlus as a 4g hotspot) whilst the BBC website was quick - but now STW is very much back up to speed.
So what did I manage to view earlier ?
It was all Times New Roman font with green tinge to layout.... didn’t like it at all
Being back the forum as it was way back when I say.
Slow for me on iPhone but has been for months now. Clearing browsing history did used to resolve it.
Edit: I must have entered a parallel universe. No sign of the thread I posted on earlier
Update = I can now see ‘P’ against some people’s names. Privileged, petulant, procrastinator or amazon prime ?
The speed is picking up a bit now in to 4th gear ... 😛
same. Just tried it on Chrome & gave up as the Singletrack website isn't loading at all!Slow for me too - Safari on mac. Other websites OK.

It seems fine on Win10/Chrome/Desktop, slow on Android/Chrome/Mobile. Same network.
I spoke too soon ... very sloooowwwwww ... think it might only been in 2nd gear. 😀
The speed's ok for me, Chrome on Android tablet.
Edit
Hang on, it slowed down when I hit send post.

Mobile view or Desktop view?
30- 120 seconds to load a page here. Win 10 in both ffox and IE
Mobile view or Desktop view?
Mobile.
Yep, it seems to be loading pretty quickly.
Flying for me. Was slow for the first few pages - are scripts or images cached locally?
It's pretty speedy on my Macbook (Safari)
I hate to be the IT Guy but, try logging out and back in again? I had some odd cookie weirdness earlier and that fixed it.
Very slow here (iPad safari)… not sure why or where I found the patience for this thread to load, so that I could post this!
^ What kelvin said. Same here. iPad 4th gen iOS 10.3.3 probably recurring.
vereeey slow at work and slow at home, but both probably a good thing!
Hi Guys, so we (myself, Andy and Tom) had big hopes for today that haven't panned out yet. To be honest it's been a massively frustrating day in the tech corner. We started at 4am this morning and it was meant to take just a few hours to bring you an upgraded forum, which is the first stage of a larger plan The challenge and what has got the best of us today is how to build a system that can take the existing 8 million posts and still handle up to 1000 concurrent users. It was a load thing and we felt sure we had it but something in the database wasn't working right and it ground to a halt pretty quickly. We have ideas as to how to fix it and we'll regroup in the morning but to be honest we all went home earlier this evening utterly knackered promising ourselves we wouldn't look at the forum. As it happens we can't stay away. Tom has already been in poking it during these random slow downs and I thought I'd give you an update before I head for bed.
Desktop, Opera, sloooooooow as a sloooooow thing, "Waiting for available socket" message
Thanks for all your hard work, Mark.
Thanks for the update Mark, must have been massively frustrating. Hopefully just a temporary set back.
2008 macbook el capitan safari, took 63 seconds to open a page
iPad mini 2 safari took 17 seconds to open a page
iPhone 5s safari took a few seconds to open a page
A block thread mode would be beneficial to my general well being!

🙂
Thanks for the efforts, folks, and fingers crossed you get an easier ride from it soon.
Good luck for the morning...
Good luck Lads and Mark for updating, TBH you should all go to bed..
We’ll be back when it’s all fine and dandy soon enough.
Peace, love and understanding.
Thanks for the update. Spent most of the day on Snowheads instead and now that is down too!
Cheers for the update Mark.
Apologies to tech@ who might have a lot of emails from me to read tomorrow. (-:
Thanks for heads up Mark!
Must be annoying as hell.
We'll survive until it's sorted I'm sure! 😀

I think you'll find yours all go to the Spam folder.
Appreciate the update I was worried sick. Good work and you'll get it tomorrow... won't you?
Does this mean we'll have to do actual work at our jobs again tomorrow?
Good luck with the next one guys.
Have good night tomorrow night and forget about the forum until the new year.
Tried to get on a little while ago, and the site just sat doing bugger-all, so restarted the pad, still a lot of bugger-all, closed it down, re-opened it, and it eventually opened up, now I’m wondering what, if anything, has actually changed.

Full changelog here:
http://singletrackworld.com/forum/topic/oooh-its-back/page/3#post-8903813
It's taking roughly two minutes for each page to load on my iPad using Safari.
This will make witty retorts and snappy comebacks somewhat problematic
No change there then.
