Morning all

The shop I would like to buy something from online only accepts MasterCard which I don't have. Does anyone know of another way I could pay, maybe a prepaid card?

Use a shop that accepts the card you have?

Just open a MasterCard account. You'll probably get the card by Wednesday if you do it today. Or am a friend or family member to buy it at transfer cash to them

shop sounds somewhat shite though, what is it? Is it really worth having to jump thorough hoops vs. just buying elsewhere?

I'd be more than a bit nervous about buying something from a shop that only accepted Mastercard.

Run. Run away.

Very common in some european countries.

Get a revolut account and it should give you a e mastercard straight away (make sure you pick mastercard and not visa).

Really?  Which ones?  Having traveled to lots of European countries and never had a MasterCard I can't say I've ever noticed.  Is it just an online purchasing thing?

Nothing hugely exciting, pair of trainers that I can seemingly only get from there (America) or a shop in Australia...

these?

Make sure you factor in getting stung for VAT/import duty/handling etc if you decide it's worth the hassle!

Do they accept paypal? If so link your credit card to your PP account and use that.

Check if it's legitimate, I had no end of problems earlier this year buying a Evoc bag from an American seller which turned out to be a Chinese rip off site. The bag did actually turn up about two months later, you could spit peas through the material and it had pictures of sand castles and and other jolly seaside themed motifs. There after ensued a two month period of various spurious charges to my credit card.

Germany is picky about its cards (it's getting better though) and so are the nordics. Mastercard is actually more common than visa in large parts of europe
