I have a couple of rooms, master, cloakroom, hallway which are getting to the stage of needing dressing.  I haven't the time to wander around the high street nor want to spend silly money on stuff the wifey will probably want changed in a couple of years

so what sites are worth a look for ideas / inspiration / buying?   I've tried wayfair and Amazon but loose the will to live after about half an hour of thumb scrolling, bit like rummaging through the clothes racks at tk Maxx.

Why not buy some images you like from somewhere like stockphoto, istock, or even direct from a photographer then get them printed to the size you want?

Have you got any local artist shops? Round here we have quite a few shops where local artists form a collective and sell stuff together. We've picked up some nice prints, not too expensive, and its good to support the local art scene.

I wasn't thinking photo's/snapshots - there's loads of interesting images on those sites & often local photographers will be more than happy to sell you a file of a nice landscape to print large format so you can get it framed up.

I know you said 'no photo's' but Finn's work is fantastic.

This (or just local artists, etc at a craft fair etc) unless you're desperate for your gaff to look like a Taylor Wimpey show home. 🙂

that British seaweeds is a definite contender for the cloakroom.  pretty and has a bit of interest.

now if there was something similar with animals that would be even better

I would never buy a painting online - these things look totally different in the flesh.  A photo maybe.  Local artists outlets far better and well worth the faff - you could make it a fun exercise if you buy something you are actually interested in!

Support the local art community - well said.

There's a few online places that do framed prints of famous artists work - or are you wanting originals?

e.g.

problem is I have a 3yr old a 1 yr old who have 30 second attention span and if not watched can trash stuff.  So unless we can arrange it around an activity close by and one of us marks while the other looks looking round galleries isn't much of an option for a while 🙁

I'm not bothered about originals or investments, just want our house to look nice!
