Time for some new broadband, currently with plusnet on fibre etc , have been alright apart from their regular price hikes ! .... Been looking around and dont have much choice been in a small village
plusnet , sky, vodaphone BT and OneStream all come up and Onestream they have the best deals so far
Ive not spoken to plusnet as yet to see what they can do or even match it ?

They're cheap, and a quick Google tells me the router they supply is also cheap - only 2.4ghz WiFi, no 5ghz and only has fast ethernet ports, not gigabit. Probably not an issue but if the router is that cheap then it'll probably cause issues.

Look for reviews too, they're new but there seems to be a fair few negative reviews.

I've been with onestream a month, so far the the connection drops 3/4 times a day, sometimes the router randomly reboots and sometimes you have to manually reboot it. So far support have told me they can't see a fault, only manual reboots and to turn it off for 20 mins if it happens again.

I run the technicolour router supplied with its wifi off and plugged into my tenda wifi mesh.

Now questioning my life choices.

Thats not sounding too clever ! .. maybe paying plusnet the extra £2 a month might be worth the lack of hassle

Are you out of contract with PlusNet?

The reason I ask is I've been with them for years and I've always had to threaten to leave before getting a good price (but I stay because my connection is solid and the service has been good).

This year they seem to have upped their game as I had a reminder to say my contract was due to expire, so I logged on and got a new 18 month deal for less than I'm paying now 🙂

Took less than 5 minutes and I didn't have to do the 'I'm leaving' charade so I'm a happy punter. Very slick compared to previous years!

Zen have been great for me. You get a decent Fritz router too.

When we switched to onestream about 8 months ago, the signal strength was hopeless so we contacted the support team. After a couple of days of trying the obvious, they sent us a new super duper router which is fast throughout an old 4 storey house at no extra cost
