MegaSack DRAW - This year's winner is user - rgwb
We will be in touch
I have a job interview juen the 10th, job is basically keyborad monkey with chemistry background. I know that my PhD in comp chem should cover the basics, but I fear I might get some tricky questions about the following:
windows, html and windows networking.
As I am an absolute idiot at windows (more of a penguin guy) I would greatly appreciate any pointers.
Cheers
how techy is it on windows?
Do you just need to know the vague differences between XP, Vista & 7 or more detail than that?
On networking are you talking windows server?
For HTML etc... w3c schools
Probably networking. There is a computer room for student, so with probably the equivalent of the NIS and NFS server of linux.
ok so it depends upon what wintel flavour they are running - older networks are still running on NT, more moderns ones on Windows Server 2003 / 2008
If they've got both Windows and Unix/Linux then you'll need Samba or something similar for file management.
