Watched the first episode. Utterly depressing. Will be watching them all.

All the characters in Detectorists were sympathetic and interesting. In this they are just pathetic and irritating. I struggled to watch after 10 minutes and it just went downhill from there. Toby Jones is better than this.

Oh yeah, I get why they've made it so shite now.

Didn’t watch it.

From the trailer it looked like Toby was just playing a  more angsty version of his Detectorists character.

Is it really worth watching ??

I'll give it one more episode. A lot of programs/comedies haven't been that great in early episodes but turned out well. The whole of series one of Blackadder for instance was so absolutely dire I'm surprised that they got to make the second series at all.

I have only watched the first one and it did at times come across as being a bit too dark, but then, I was going to give up on After Life, and that turned out ok.

Just finished watching all the episodes. It certainly improves and the characters develop. Definitely a different proposition to Detectorists but worth the time to watch IMHO.
Roll on series 2.

I abandoned halfway through episode 3. The BBC's patchwork quilt of multi-cultural, disabled and sexually orientated characters is nauseating in the extreme. If my wife wasn't addicted to the Sony Crime channel I wouldn't have to contribute to the making of this PC drivel.

I'm four episodes in. It's okay. I think you could do a critical essay on it as being anti-brexit. It certainly pro-immigrant and anti-racism, and I make no apologies for saying that is what we need on the television now.

Even the title is double edged. Don't forget what drives immigrants to leave their home countries.

It was different and I enjoyed it. Nicely shot ,a bit miserable and thought provoking.
