Yes, I ought to by a DSLR. No, I don't use my camera enough to justify it. Yes, I have some B+W film that I'd like to have processed.
Any recommendations for mail order? I'm inclined to go to Peak Imaging, but it is reasonably pricy.
Cheers
my old work does it tom.
not too sure how competitive the prices are, but the quality is definitely there...
Truprint are still doing it for about £6, 99p for a roll of film too 🙂
Ah, forgot about Ilford's processing - cheers, Andy. Shame I don't live in South Manchester any more..!
TINAS - forgot all about truprint..!
ooo, that reminds me, when Ilford went tits up a few years ago, I didn't get my films back from processing. They still have/had about 4 of my films 🙁
lord knows where they'd be now cp!
i only started working there after they came out of receivership and they'd split into two companies at that point, so there's every chance your films weren't even at the mobberley site.
i got made redundant last friday though so i can't check it out for you...

s--t - didn't realise it was here you were made redundant from. Still, enjoying your time out?
yea, you can't get the envelops off the website but if you call customer services they can send them out.
Surely Ilford must have a big box of lost films lying around. Would it not be tempting on your last day to just develop them all for the hell of it to see what's on them?
tom- yes mate. it's all good! got a reasonable payout considering i was only there 6 years, and i'm full of optimism for the future! it was the kick up the arse that i needed, basically.
molgrips- yeah, that would have been amusing, sadly i worked in the IT dept and had no access to that stuff but i'm certain the process and print lab folks had already done that anyway.

Admit it. You're just hoping for fuzzy headband era pr0n.
Yeah! Or some fascinating historical snaps.. Ilford had been going for years so there must be all sorts in there 🙂 Although.. does undeveloped film degrade after a while?
I use these guys for all my Lomo pics, the website isnt as pretty as some but the results are top notch - they also use a higher grade paper than most other premium services (Fuji Crystal Archive Supreme)

yeah, not sure of the exact shelf life of film waiting to be devloped but it's no more than a decade at most, if i remember correctly... if you keep it in a fridge, this extends it though.
eric - cool. Cheers.
Cheers oliver - they don't do B+W.
I saw that - wasn't sure if cross processed might do.
do it yourself, you can get the bits cheap (off ebay) and the chemicals aren't too pricey
just requires a bit of patience and somewhere to dry the film
if I can do it anyone can
Peak Imaging have always been brilliant. I'd rather pay the extra £ and know hay are being dealt with professionally.
Printing wise they are one of the only labs in the country using the Durst LED printers, which produce the closest visual result to silver halides.
