We will be in touch
It's JULY, for ****'s sake. Why isn't it sunny? Is this meant to be the consequences of global warming?
It's rained every single day in Devon for nearly two weeks now, and there's no sign of things improving.
Wrong kind of jetstream innit...
well i put the mudguards back on the road bike and bought a new Gore Tex jacket, i would have thought that would be enough to get the sun back, but no...
This is Britain. Not much climate but plenty of weather.
You live in the wrong part, nice here again today.
Bit rainy in Dorset this morning. Thats 3 crappy summmers in a row, although this year and last we copped the only dry week of the summer in Cornwall.
Sorry, my fault. I bought a new motorbike 2 weeks ago and its all gone shite since then.
Should have known better really
I have it on good authority that summer will resume normal service soon.
(I just made it up, but you have to be optimistic eh?)
Ignore the global warming threats. We're starting to enter a period of cooling similar to the 'little ice age' back in the 17/18 centuries, signified by an almost total lack of sunspot activity and the Earth's magnetic field being at an all-time low. Many solar scientists are talking of the 400 year Maunder Minimum cycle, 100 years without sunspots that heralded the Little Ice Age, where major rivers froze over, crops blighted, with famine and pandemic disease rampant. The Met Office models ignore oceanic cooling that influences climate, a 40 year cycle is ignored in favour of longer term trends. That's why they got the last two summer forcasts and last winter so wrong.
Check out a new book called Chill, a reassessment of Global warming theory by Peter Taylor.
Sunny in Switzerland
Ive just re-waterproofed my riding jacket.
Count - so that is why the globe is warmer than it has been for 100+ yrs and the ice caps are the smallest they have been?
CO2 levels higher and ahead of the temp rise?
Count, we were told this in my first lecture at uni. It was about how anthropodgenic climate change is a myth. Interesting!
A simlar thread has been done in the past but no-one will believe you they are to caught up in the media hype.
go out and burn a car tyre every time you see someone recycle. Better to have a balence.
Just bought a turbo trainer 😥
Jamie - I'll share the blame with you. I put some less knobbly tyres on my bike and it's done nothing but rain since then. I have done a lot of going sideways since then. Hmmmm.
Its almost too hot in Switzerland !
-had the A/C in the office on all day and the guy next door has been complaining that he has to water his garden twice a day.
ho hum.
Whoever has taken the good weather, put it back and we'll say nothing more about it. Otherwise we'll stay here until it turns up. Dusting the bike after a ride has been nice, mud and washing not so nice.
my bike looks like its been left in the loft for millions of years, there's so much dust on it right now 😆
count youre talkin arse im afraid
last yrs summer forecast was for warm and wet, check, last winter predicted a cold one, check
this summer predicted a hot one, well up to 2 weeks ago it was scorching!
and as TJ if you are correct why are the ice caps still retreating?
