even when i was 9 years old i thought his lyrics were pretentious tosh.

it probably took a while longer to be able to articulate what i thought of them mind.

loved the music though.

Bolan was a poet! A poet I'll have you know.

Came up on shuffle this morning, I always liked the cut of Mr Bolan's jib.

Track No 1 on the first album (sorry, LP) I ever bought - I'll always remember the look on my Dad's face when I put it on the gramophone ๐Ÿ˜†

I always remember my dad coming home with a box of T Rex singles and 3 albums, The Slider, Electric Warrior & Ride a White Swan (the guitar part of Elemental Child still sounds amazing).
Must have been 1974 and I still have them all.

a totally under rated yet brilliant guitarist.

never seems to feature in anyone's list of greatest guitarists.

I used to spend many Saturday afternoons listening to Tyrannosaurus Rex on Top Gear, whilst getting my bike ready for a race or club run the following day.

They were all esoteric then, before Bolan & John Peel fell out.
