Noasis are playing in Hull this October so my gig guide tells me. Might be cheaper and they probably won't not fall out.

Not now. Seen them enough. Played our students union in 1993. And I saw them many times after.

Same, I've seen them a number of times when good very good, but it was infrequent and not paying a nostalgia tax to experience that again.
I'd be reluctant to take kids to a Oasis gig not a nice environment.
Saw a vid of recent Liam gig that was similar.

While We’re on about the revival of famous 90’s partnerships…

This is utter genius from Zig and Zag

I find it really interesting that forum member’s kids are “obsessed” by them.  When you were 16 to 25, were you listening to 30+ year old bands?  In the mid 90s, that would be like listening to early Beatles, or Elvis!

Went to see Pulp in Finsbury park last year and there was a very obvious contingent of under 21s who seemed to treat the whole thing as a cosplay thing. All trying to dress like 90s Jarvis, I assume all of the charity shops in and around London were completely out of velvet jackets that week.

We'll be joining the Ticketmaster scam queue, but I won't be heartbroken if weiss out.

We're in at Heaton park on the 12th July. Just checked travelodges, all MCR ones are £250 ?

? Is supposed to be a laughing emoji, I'm not questioning why they're so expensive!

Good shout. Foo Fighters supported when I saw them in Cardiff!

Stone Roses had a different line up each day of their Heaton park gigs, could be a similar thing, scope for a lot of acts.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Shed 7, coral, Kasabian, Cast, blossoms, catfish and bottlemen etc'. Courteeners? All the standard blokey indie. Sleaford Mods for a slight curve ball? Justin Hawkins seems pretty keen on his latest YT post.

Nope. Absolutely not.  Vastly over rated and over hyped.

I can only assume one of more of them needs a big wedge of dirty lucre to pay off a(nother?) Divorce or a dodgy geezer.

(Noel puts out music  infinitely better on his own).

Christ, I’ll almost be prepared to put money on Liam and Noel starting a scrap on stage halfway through the second gig, that’s if the Mods don’t start one with the Gallaghers first.

Honestly, I’ve never thought of either Gallagher being anything other than average as either a singer or a songwriter, that contrived nasal “Sheeeeiiiiiinnnnneeee” thing that’s a sort of cross between Lennon and Lydon, both of whom are vastly better than either Gallagher as both singer and songwriter, and I don’t rate Lennon all that highly either.

Wouldn’t be surprised to see Shed 7, coral, Kasabian, Cast, blossoms, catfish and bottlemen etc’. Courteeners?

Oh God, shoot me now! Although, I have seen The Coral, and I do actually like their stuff. I saw them at Bristol O2 Academy along with Portishead, Massive Attack, and Robert Plant for the Tsunami appeal in 2005. Damon Albarn turned up as a special guest, Massive Attack had Liz Fraser on for Teardrop, and Massive Attack and Portishead did Glory Box together.

Altogether an incredible show. I think I paid about £30 for my ticket, and all for a good cause.

So, who's in the queue/the queue for the queue/being disconnected from the queue with a 503 error?

I got in and got to a screen where I was in the main ticket queue and my browser was constantly crashing and reloading. This went on for 10 minutes then I got a messaging saying I was suspected to be a bot and kicked out the queue. What the hell is that about? Now I can't get back in the queue.

Exactly what a bot would say!

Well how predictable- the STW posters sneer at Oasis, too common I guess. Most would be Coldplay and Blur fans anyway ?

They'll listen to them whilst pretending to be into bands as obscure as the overpriced artisan coffee they buy.

To be fair, STW posters sneering at STW posters who sneer at Oasis would be a fairly predictable outcome too. A story old as time itself.

Can we not talk about how Ticketmaster have clearly adopted the STW hamster model?

We were early in queue, waited, selected tickets, waited, got to payment screen and it had changed tickets to super expensive ones. Tried to change them then got bumped to back of queue. Not impressed

Yep, disappointing that Oasis agreed to dynamic pricing (I assume band must agree to whether price get boosted based on demand?)...got to front of queue but 'In Demand Standing Ticket' is £358.10. Rest are Platinum Seated so mega bucks

Less Rock and Roll Star, more Rock and Roll Swindle.

Never been a fan myself, but gutted for those of you trying and failing to get what were already high priced tickets.

I wonder which tickets weren't 'in demand'?

Surge pricing on stuff which will sell out in a couple of hours...when is the low demand period then?

Cynical cash grab by the brothers, unfortunately, and Ticketmaster are their official touts, no better than the resellers they whine on about.

Does anyone honestly believe this reunion is about anything other than the money? It's obviously cynical, but then it always was.

It's not a dig at them - they've got the potential to earn huge money, so why not? It's not the '90s; the music industry has changed dramatically, and revenue streams have been the catalyst.

Is it worth the aggravation...

so what if it is? Most of us work to earn money. It’s normal.

Completely. They’ve been honest about that from day 1 of their career as a band.

The criticism of them getting the most they can for a reunion that is (no doubt) predominantly about earning money just seems bizarre, frankly.

Anyhow, in all the noise about Oasis reforming, I'm yet to see which version of Oasis that will be onstage.

A friend of mine is trying to get tickets.

"Got to the front of the queue, it pinged me back to the start. Went back in and it brought up VIP tickets - rear standing for £357 each."

I don't get this snobbery thing. I'm from an almost conically working class background and don't like Oasis. I find both brothers to be arrogant ****ers and the singers voice is like nails down a chalkboard to me. An horrendous nasal whine. It isn't snobbery, just different musical tastes and/or a dislike of a couple of arrogant ****ers. Both in my case.

I wasn't s fan but used to like oasis back in the nineties, until more recently working with a bloke who spoke so much shit about how great they were and also used to play guitar and sing oasis songs sometimes at break times, that I just hate them now.

I’m not sure either of them need the money, do they?

I reckon the idea of standing in front of thousands of adoring fans singing your songs must be pretty addictive. Rock stars gonna rock? Plus everyone swooning over Chris Martin’s Glasto performances must be difficult to watch if you’re in Oasis.

the dynamic pricing thing is not on. I don’t mind paying for tickets but driving prices up after queuing for ages is a crap approach

does anyone know anyone who actually got tickets and paid standard price? I don’t.

Nope, from a quick review of 2 people . All morning wasted queuing online to get to the actual purchase screen. Then get a message along the lines of " the ticket you requested is no longer available but we have platinum standing tickets for £525" . No thanks.
Love to know what the actual average price paid was, by how many hundreds of thousands of people.

It really is shocking - queue for hours then finding out they are charging  festival weekend ticket prices - but what do you do? It’s your only chance, you got through and you really want to see them…

I decided from the outset that I wasn’t going to try for tickets and I’m happy with that decision.

It's blatant exploitation of the sunk cost fallacy of people who've spent hours in the queue. There will be those who can't really afford those prices but who fall for it in the moment and hit the buy button.

Hopefully it's the final abuse that leads to greater regulation of the sector and Ticketmaster have cut their own throats here.

Yes, I know someone who got tickets for Edinburgh at the standard price.

The group I'm with all got tickets (16 in total) for Heaton park at standard price but that was in the pre-sale.

Who's actually at fault for the dynamic pricing thing? Everyone's bemoaning oasis for it, like it's directly Noel and Liam responsible, but surely it's actually Ticketmaster, or which ever promotions company is involved?

As above, money is undoubtedly a factor in the reunion, the sums are boggling, but whether you like them or not, both brothers now have successful solo careers and they must receive pretty handsome royalty cheques, especially from Absolute radio and Radio X ? so I doubt they actually need it!!

Better the cash going to the act than them selling tickets at under market value and the profits going to ticket touts.  Too expensive? Don't buy them.

Chatting to women in local pet shop - she paid ~£350 per standing ticket for 3. Her daughter had been online from 8am and got them at 4pm ish.
