Maybe it's an age thing , I think for me it all changed at the Millennium when pubs came up with the wheeze of charging to go in on NYE . I'm not that fussed about alcohol at the moment ( I hate losing much of the next day)and I shall be off up the wooden hill to Bedfordshire shortly , yes I am an old curmudgeon 🙄😔

both kids out at parties and with the difficulty and cost of taxis on NYE I'm on pick up - first one is hard wired for 1230 because it's at a friend's house and that's when parents have said it finishes; the other...... well, pub closes at 1am and then it might be 'all back to Lol's house'.......
Will sit up with the dog to distract him when the inevitable fireworks go off . If anything like last year it will stretch over at least an hour 🙄
More flippin' fireworks than November 5th at a more unsocialable time. Better half in bed with Covid and I'm no doubt coming down with it. 😡
Saw the kids and ex earlier, currently packing to ride tomorrow watching Rob Warner and Olly Wilkins tackle the GR5.
I'll leave NYE celebrations to the youngsters.
As much as I adore Xmas, I detest NYE. Never enjoyed it. Feel very uncomfortable at midnight. No idea why. I'll be in bed shortly
