this is very embarrassing,but i am wondering what phone cable/wires look like?
there is a sealed wall plastic cover,that when i have removed it,has very thin wires (some are white/red,other colours).is this the phone line wiring?
sorry to be a numpty but i am finally going to get broadband connection on monday (have the sky hub ready to go)and i presume that this is the connector socket for it (no connector fitted yet). only 15+ years late to the party 😉

Yes, lots of little coloured wires inside. The broadband connector goes into this socket and shares the line with the phone.
