Looking at ditching the landline for internet and tethering my laptops/tablets through my mobile.
Question is any advise/recommendations of phone to use, currently got a Samsung Europa running Android 2.2 so I'll have to upgrade the phone and operating system I guess?

how much data do you use and what speed do you expect?
Android 2.2 does USB teathering or WiFi hotspot but speeds wont get better with software, 4g is the next step.
I've tethered from a number of phones, including iphone 4, Lumia 920, Nexus 4 and 5 and a crappy old Alcatel Android phone, and tethering seemed consistent across the board, making me think the speed of the phone didn't matter so much.
I've "tethered" the tablet to the phone and it worked fine, but couldn't stream i-player...
