.... I like the technology side as much as the racing, accept that it is (basically) only for and of itself and can kind of live with/turn a blind eye to the immense carbon footprint the whole operation generates for, esentially, nothing......

....but surely this is just taking the p!ss???

Really don't like Red Bull at the best of times.

The way they go racing reminds me of the Third Reich, can't put my finger on it 😯 😯 😯 😯

All sports have a big carbon footprint. F1 just seems to get more stick because the cars are, well cars. Admittedly there is a lot that they could do regarding race scheduling and the amount of freight thats carried to races.

Sports like football have big carbon footprints but its mostly not visible. Things like fan attendance (driving to races) watching tv's, powering and heating stadiums over the scale of the number of football matches and their frequency creates a large carbon footprint.

I don't have facts or figures to hand, but I read a paper on the subject a while back (honest). Makes this post a bit pointless, but hey. I have to attempt to defend the sport I love :p

F1 has been carbon neutral since 1997.
