Looks like it could have been a good show if it was not for 100% cloud cover (atleast here in lancashire).

Who was the most southerly observer I wonder ?

I think the peak was early this morning so you would have to be very keen.

We were hoping to be treated to it out in't ills last night. But full cloud cover in East Lancs, like you said. We hardly even got the benefit of the full moon.

Bloody good ride anyway though, and disaster averted when we made it up the last climb dangerously close to last orders. Phew! 😀

Nothing in north Oxfordshire, but the moon was so bright it would drown out anything else.

We saw nothing of the Northern Lights, sadly, but we did have a glorious view of the full moon rising over Mellor, glowing orange, then a fab view of That Manchester by moonlight, then a lovely view of the barmaids in the local pub

Oh and a badger running around our garden at 5am

I started following AuroraWatch on Twitter and they had a 'red alert' at 6.45 this morning.

A mate flew out to Iceland yesterday morning - happy coincidence on a planned city break type thing. I haven't spoken to him yet but feel very envious.

In contrast my missus looked through the curtains during an ad break in Location, Location, Location last night, grumbled something that sounded like 'rubbish' and put the kettle on. We live in Hampshire, it was cloudy, and the window she looked out of faces South. I give up.

Out in Northamptonshire last night. Great moon, loads of rabbits but, sadly, no northern lights.

We could see a glow over Middlesborough

That was probably from the burning cars.

Nah, too far south, (South Wiltshire), and was in bed at 8 anyway.
