Correct. "Time flies" is a mistranslation. Tempus fugit means time flees - it runs away from us. It's where we get works like "fugitive" from.

not sure that’s true – flee/flie/fly are synonyms (or were, historically)… “take flight”, etc. So anachronistic perhaps, rather than wrong.
