plenty of NHS bods on here,

me and the mrs, both part of the 1995 scheme, both 34 so won't be retiring any time soon,

Pension changes on 1/4/15

so do we move whats accrued to the 2008 section? 7 and 8 years worth of contributions

God only knows.
I've got the paperwork for mine and need to decide whether or not to switch to the new section. Frankly I've got no idea!

At the moment the retirement age for me is up you 68 and 9 months and I can only see it increasing further over the coming years along with increased contributions. I'm starting to wonder whether it's even worth having the pension any more.

Yup as above on the 2008 scheme. I won't see 68 year old with my injury record.
Have you tried the NHS pension calculator to see if the difference between both pension schemes?

I'm in the same situation, however I have something called mental health officer status which means my years 20 to 30 double up to give me the full 40/80 ths in 30 years. Going to have a look at the calculator but who knows???
