Just dropped my nexus and smashed a corner of the screen!

The digitiser still works on the unbroken bit.

Has anyone ever replaced theirs?

Some websites suggest you can change just the glass and digitiser (parts about £35). Other sites say you have to replace the whole assembly as the LCD is bonded to the digitiser (£90).

Anyone got a broken one with a good screen they want to flog?

Like the iPhone they're bonded. Full unit for you squire. Try and find one with bezel too. Otherwise you have to faff seperating them from old screen

the digitiser is bonded to the screen? This doesn't sound like smart design unless you want to rake in money through repairs and replacement parts!

Yup, looks like the replacement digitizers are a non starter. I've got a nexus7 with a smashed digitizer but good LCD but at £90 for the replacement part its effectively scrap.

I think they're made to be disposable, what happens when the battery eventually dies?
