Android Lollipop 5.0 should help.

Gad my N5 over a year, and for most of that time I've used Battery Doctor to keep battery life optimised*

* I've no idea if BD really makes a difference, but IME my battery works bloody well compared to other users'

Have had mine for about a year, switched to Dalvik runtime early on and since then it's been excellent.

Mine is all over the shop. Some days it won't get to lunch time without a charge (even with no use, no screen time), others it'll last 24 hours but that's after a restart. Seems some apps are misbehaving. Battery usage gives no clue of this though.

Lollipop seems more consistent and better overall on average but it's only been a few days.

Currently get from 7:30am to 11pm with light use, not much screen time, which seems to be the killer.

Just flashed lollipop to the N4, so we'll see what that does.
