Newbie in house buying - Any tips for me?

Hey, y'all! My hubby and I are planning to buy a new house for us. We both decided to get something that's near to some nature. Maybe we'll do some swimming or fishing or canoeing. This would also be our first time buying a house. We've only been renting for the last couple of years and I know that there are some things that the real estate agent doesn't tell us.
Maybe you know this builder? How's buying a house from them? Can you also share some tips about the afterparty of buying a new home? My hubby and I are only experienced in apartments and condos.
