Local company. See if you can pay cash, might get 20% off the bill, maybe more...

Local company every time.

3 windows, depending on size of course, approx £1200 quid.

Door, £900 ish for composite door

I'd guess Everest will start the bidding at about 6 grand.

Local company definitely. And I have never heard much very good said about Safestyle.

Everest or Safestyle

Not with a very very long bargepole. You will pay twice to three times as much. You will still have the same local fitter. They will badger you for all sorts ongoing.

A good, recommend local company is brilliant.

I had quotes for patio doors and three windows. Varied from £3.5k to £11k(!). Have a guess which salesman/company owner had the highest quote - the one in the work van at end of day, the one in a Mondeo or the one driving a Velar

I bought the doors and windows myself, fitted all in one weekend with neighbour who is window fitter. Total cost was £1800.

On the basis of local winning every time, can anyone recommend a window fitter around Bromsgrove?

The usual advice was always to find out who the local window maker is, and see if they can recommend a fitter.

find out who the local window maker is

You will probably find that they don't exist - even the 'local' window companies usually buy all the frames in from 3rd parties.

Just had the quote from Everest... over £5500, the door alone is over £4000. Lets wait for local fitters!

Rehau are a decent manufacturer of windows. You can search their website for local installers.

I have just clicked order on a composite door and sidepanel, made by Solidor. Upgraded handles, number on it, upgraded glass etc.
£840 delivered to Scotland from Doncaster.
Neighbour and I will fit in a morning, I will pay him £150.
