We're looking for a new TV... only a 43 inch so nothing too flash... but I'm not sure what to do about the sound because flat tv's sound pretty rubbish. I'm thinking soundbar, because I don't really want to use all our surround sound every time we're just watching normal programmes on it. This means I don't want a separate sub so need just the soundbar. And.... did I mention its got to be pretty cheap i.e about £150 max.
Does anyone have a cheapish, decent sounding one they would recommend?
Sorry... If anyone wants to recommend a TV that'd be great too.
Pair of active Edifier speakers - they’ll shit all over a soundbar at that price.
If you have an AVR and surround sound I don’t know why you just wouldn’t set that to stereo mode though for normal tv viewing or leave it on direct mode.
We have a 5.1 surround system. And tbh we barely use it. It does sound much better than the TV but most of the time we just don't care that much.
Maybe modern sound bars are fully integrated so you don't have separate remotes and extra faff?
