MegaSack DRAW - This year's winner is user - rgwb
We will be in touch
Bought a rather nice Ricoh CX2 in the sales, and it seems a cracking wee bit of kit...
Loving exploring the 'what can it do' and it has a couple of fun features:
Can take 5fps, but only saves the last 3 seconds, so you can press 'clickclickclickclick' away and release button after the moment, not guessing exactly when to press it.
Has a built in 'HDR' mode that works well it seems.

Nice one Matt.
I've got a Ricoh GX100 and it's a brilliant camera with a superb lens (I have a couple of grumbles about the jpeg output, but I'm being picky).
Tarmachan Ridge is looking good right now - any idea what the access road is like?
I had an older Ricoh Capilo camera and it was a cracking little camera until it died last year
Looking to replace it and its between a CX3 or Lumix TZ9 but given past experiences Im erring towards the Ricoh
Where you get yours from and how much?
I dont think there is much difference between the CX2 and the 3 other than 720HD video

Supposedly fine apart from a couple of icy bits - bottom looks fine.
Bought at http://www.srsmicrosystems.co.uk/ but also cheap at Parks at the present.
And yes, minimal difference between Cx2 and 3 - so I saved £20....
Oh, and we had a Lumix before - nice pics, shame it died two weeks out of warranty...The Ricoh came with 2 years warranty.
how would you say the two compare Matt?
Lumix - seemed to take nice vibrant shots, but could struggle to focus/take quickly/ some shots seemed to have a lot of 'noise' on them. Very much a point n shoot. But a very good one as far as I could tell.
The Ricoh - much bigger wide angle and zoom, much more control over pretty much anything, already better at macro/close ups, faster. Not had it out in decent light yet to see what it can do. Feels heavier built (solid). My wife likes the way the mode dial has an 'easy' setting...I like the fact that with a few clicks you can mess around with all sorts...
yeah sounds alot like the old Ricoh I had the macro on that was fantastic
Think I may take the plunge and get a CX3
