So we've chosen the dog (see previous thread). After lots of discussion we are going with the boy.
He's a lovely chocolate working cocker spaniel but we are struggling with a name for him. So I fall upon the all-knowing community of singletrackworld for help in naming the poor lad. After all, my daughter wants to call him Rolo!!!
Myfais
I'll get my coat
Steven
Bruni ,in commemoration of his wc win and he's brownish.
Bronson (as in Charles not the bike!)
Geoff??
What's wrong with Rolo ? 🙁
Rohloff?
Barabbas
Daniel the spaniel
Cameron
Alan
Simon
Need pics to decide.
(Stamps foot)
PICS!!!
Chip (chocolate chip)
Jaffa (after the cakes)
Chase.. Cos the daft spaniels chase stuff all day long
Kenny, Bilko or Chris
Geoff
Jasper or Dave.
Must be one syllable.
Why not Oi!
Rover? It's probably (possibly?) quite uncommon these days.
Thornton.
Rolo sounds good to me!
Dylan or socks
Mike Hunt.
Alan
Genius! 😆
Deefer
Rolo is good. It's the name of the first Duke of Normandy.
But go with Bart.
Colin.
By the way, most working Cockers I have seen get called "you little shit" most of the time. Ours has that prefixed by "stinky".
Stoffel

- Stoffel the Honey Badger[/url]
I've got two sprinters called Rufus and Malcolm.
How about Frank.
Jarvis, obviously.
My dog's called Frank. But don't call yours that or I'll get confused. And so will Frank.
Geoff (but definitely not Jeff) is good.
Should be something that means something to you or a name of a character you like? Random names I like the sound of...Chico, Tye, Rum, Pip, Theo, Loam?! Not sure Loam would trip off the tongue tho
Ernest or Wednesday.
Chocacocker
Bongo
Fenton
or Gary?
Binners?
Piggy
Fartacus
Iamsporticus nails it.
Iggy Pup
George.
Dexter
I don't understand the Myfais reference
If he is to stand any chance at crufts, then it will have to be "eulesys spangles the third".
Nor do I, but I think I get the Gary one...
Piggy
Joe
Spittle.
It's a name that rolls off the tongue.
Mordecai
If not binners, then as has been suggested,
Maifais is a great name. Especially when he's lagging behind you on a walk and you have to yell at him to "Come on...."
And, if he climbs on your furniture, Nboogie is a good name. "Get down,...."
Stand aside guys I've got this one......
ATHIE!
Pmsl at this!! My wife and I are in stitches
Dug
Snook, Watson or Toby Belch
My actual dog names are Kobe & Braid, I couldn't face walking them in the park & shouting FeeFee or Roxy, bedsides I always wanted a Kobe Ti, but if I got a new mutt then I think Fenton wins for the craic.
If not Alan then
Sitstay
Rolo!
How about Sampras (you know the whole [s]rabbits[/s] dogs, tennis connection there) or maybe Father Jack.
My standard suggestion is "Dog" because that's all mine ever gets called (he's called blue btw)
But given that this is stw, renton seems ideal after the Fenton references surely?

Wrong size.
Bodie
Let your daughter pick ffs.
Rolo is better than any of the suggestions here anyway.
Colonel Horatio Muffles.
Haven't seen the other thread, and no pics.
But if he's Chocolate colour, and lighter, then I think Rolo would be fine.
Same colour as the sweet.
And your Daughter would be chuffed to bits too.
Our wocker is called Tigger
How about Spangle
Minton?
My dog, Minton is always chasing shuttlecocks...
BAD MINTON....
Branston? As in pickle.
My cocker is Ziggy. With hindsight, I might have gone with Dobby, as in the house elf in Harry Potter. He's always following me, and if I give him a sock, he's properly made up!!
Keith
"Call me Dave"
I actually like Rolo!
Some people like human names, some people are completely against them...
My dog is a black lab called Henry
Pat or Deefa
As in:
Pat the dog
or
Deefa (D for) Dog
Dogzilla
my dog is called Larry David aka Larry, LD, Lar, Laz, Lazza
ive noticed an increase in dogs called Dave or John on the parks lately.
best to name him after a favourite character or historical figure.
Kessler was my 2nd choice, after the American Werewolf.
Hercules
Or register him as Rodney, but call him Dave.
Ben Dover?
Shaft.
